2008-10-21 New Venue for South Milford Bonfire |
The South Milford bonfire is switching to the nearby village of Monk Fryston. The event is moving because the traditional venue at Batty's field in South Milford is no longer suitable due to health and safety restraints. Other sites in the nearby area were investigated, but were also found to be unsuitable. This year's bonfire, which will be held close to the centre of the village, will replace the usual Monk Fryston bonfire held at the community centre. The bonfire will be held on Saturday November 8, with gates opening at 6pm. Tickets cost £5 in advance and will be on sale from October 10th. Tickets bought on the night will cost £7.50.
