2008-04-30 Genix launch GENCARE Cosmetics |
A survey by Yorkshire dentistry chain Genix Healthcare revealed that the number of Brits undergoing teeth-whitening treatment in a bid to get a Hollywood smile is at an all-time high. One in ten people have now had their teeth whitened and that figure is set to soar over the next 12 months. 72% of people in Leeds and 59% of people in Sheffield already buy whitening toothpaste. Plus, 71% of Leeds people either have had or would consider tooth whitening treatments, while the figure for Sheffield is 60%. The statistics showed that a quarter of Brits hate their teeth and almost half of people admit that their bad teeth affects their confidence. Two thirds of people blamed the constant stream of pictures of celebrities with perfect white smiles for increasing the pressure to have good teeth.
Katrina Hardy, Operations Director of Genix Healthcare said: ''So many people hate their teeth - even more than the size of their bottoms. The way your teeth look can have a direct effect on a person's confidence levels. By changing stained, crooked or broken teeth, it can really open up someone's face and give them the confidence to smile, as well as enhancing their career prospects and love life too. We want to give as many people as possible access to cosmetic dentistry that is affordable, without compromising on quality, so we launched GENCARE Cosmetics in addition to GENCARE, our pay-as-you-go scheme for routine dental care that is comparable to NHS prices. We even offer an interest free loan, so that people can spread the payments without boosting the cost. We want Britain to smile with confidence!”
